Last Weekend

Hello Everyone!
It's almost the weekend wooo hoooo! I'm so excited! Before I tell you about my amazing weekend plans, I'll give you the rundown of last weekend...oh lawd..it was a crazy one..

Friday: I went to my friend's house who was having a shoe party. Apparently her husband can get pallets of 'off season' shoes and he re-sells. He got a pallet from Macy's and being the shoe freak that I am, I had to go check it out. Her whole garage was full of shoes on tables. OMG I thought I died and went to shoe heaven. I ended up with 7 pairs of shoes including some Coach, Jessica Simpson, Guess, Franco Sarto, Bandolino, and some Stewart Weitzman's for the gf!!!!! Oh all these shoes were such a steal...I couldn't pass it up! She had some really amazing Marc by Marc Jacobs Pale Pink with black trim peep toe pumps that I WISH would have fit me...but they didn't..oh well.

After going to her house I went to Sr. Fish in Little Tokyo to go check out my friends Mel and Frankie as they got their Drag King on for 'Strapped' a bi-monthly event that happens for Queers. It was soo cool, at first it was kind of slow..by the time that my little sister Gaby got there it was poppin' There were these beautiful women hula hooping there was even one cool hula hoop that lit up!!! They had DJ's and some vendors outside it was FUN!!!!!!!!! Good job to Mel and Frankie! Mel did a Drag King Morrissey and Frankie did Freddie Mercury.

Saturday: I went to my friends Christel and Hannah's Engagement Beach party at Dockwiler beach in Playa del Rey. Everything seemed cool, I took my ex-wife with me so she can meet some new people and a bunch of my friends were going too..everything seemed amazing until...

when we got there the people that were next to us were rolling like 75 deep and had full on DJ equipment on the sand and playing a bunch of gangsa rap..I was like ok cool I like the music sometimes..just chill and have fun, ya know? Well little did we know that the day was going to end with some shots fired and all of us DUCKING face down on the sand..big props to the ex wife who literally jumped to cover my body with hers to 'protect my life' she's soo cute..here are some pics.

p.s. YES that's a cop with a drawn gun right next to me scarrrryyyyyyy!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sunday was just a chill day, I was doing laundry and catching up on some projects from work and Sappho's Return. I wasn't going to go out then I was talking to my friend Sandra and her and I decided to go to The MUST bar in downtown for some wine and girly bonding time. Well we were drinking and I guess it was game night...she TOTALLY beat me at Connect Four (I keep telling her she should take Jess's Logic portion of the LSAT for her) and then my friend Kery even showed up to kick it for a bit. When we left we were on our way to my car and when I got in I noticed that my car was unlocked, both the driver and passenger side were unlocked..then I tried to put the key in and NADA..someone tried to take my car for a joy ride and broke off a key inside the ignition..great! So we tried to take it out with no luck. AAA was called and had my car towed to my mechanic who fixed it the next day..LA I tell you..sometimes it's a loose/loose situation..but at least it was a fun night.

Now the weekend is upon us again and it's time to have FUN!!!

Tonight: I'm going to the BEATMO record release party after I attend a happy hour for my dear friend Napa who was promoted at work (CONGRATS NAPA!!) I can't wait for the record release party! There's going to be a photo booth and yummy food and fun music!!!

Sat: I fly at 8am to San Francisco to see my beautiful gf! Oh goodness! I haven't seen her in soo long and I'm dying! She's up there for the SPIN Media Project Communication Leadership Institute and it ends tomorrow. I'm going to fly in early and have brunch with my dear friend at LIME in the castro and then at 2pm be at the SPIN offices to go pick up Jess and then we'll check in for our romantic 24 hours at The Four Seasons!!!!! My girl really knows how to spoil me! I'm soo excited! And we had the concierge make us reservations at Acquerello in Nob Hill! My friend joked and said I'm being wined and dined like a politicians wife and I said give me about 10-15 years and then I'll be one :) SO here are some amazing images of what I'll be experiencing this weekend!

I'll take pics and post them on Monday..

Everyone have a great weekend!!!

Weekend Re-Cap and other things

Good Afternoon lovelies,
Soo this weekend was full of so many different emotions and such. Saturday, I went to go see my chiropractor in the morning. It was nice to be able to get an adjustment. I needed one for sure. After I finished with my chiropractor I went over to The Nickle Diner to meet my BFF and Luisa. We indulged in sooo much good food. Oh and the ladies that work there are such hotties. I love that it's run mostly by women and they all have tats and piercings! Yum.

After chatting it up and eating with my friends, I went over to my faveeeee store Fresh and Easy to go get some munchies and vino for our evening at the Zap Mama concert in Downtown LA. I got my munchies and headed back home to get ready and get everything together. Apparently I scored good femme points with Mel because Gaby and I were on time (sooo hard for this femme to do) but Mel scored butch points with me for getting something from the store for me before she came to pick us up to take us to the venue. WOW the venue and the concert!!! We got there about 6pm (concert didn't start till 8pm but the website said to get there early) I'm sooo glad that we did. When we got to the venue, there were already about 200 people there! We were able to get a good spot and get our chairs and blankets set out to save space for our other friends. We got to know our 'Neighbors' and got a chance to open our vino and beers and little snacks we brought with us. The view was amazing and California Plaza (The Venue) is so amazingly beautiful nestled in between skyscrapers in the Downtown LA area. Of course I could not do anything but sing the praises of Zap Mama! She came out in a NEON YELLOW dress with a NEON PINK Petticoat underneath...oh and the best part? she had a Vinyl record on her head as a hat and had her sneaks over her shoulder ready to put them on when her heels were hurting her feet. She took us all over the world with her music while she back flipped and just was purely amazing! By the end of the concert we prob had about 20 people in our crew and the vibe was just terrific. Judging by my friends Facebook statuses, most of Queer LA was there to experience the concert! Here are a couple of pics from the concert:

Sunday I woke up with the worst sinus pressure headache, so that didn't help my mood. I was going to go to an event at the ONE archives, but I decided to stay home and help my healing instead. I ventured out later in the evening for Tacos and Sorbet but Sunday was pretty uneventful.

I really hope this week goes by fast. I have a going away party on Tuesday, a queer performance to go see on Friday, a queer engagement beach party on Sat and a Dia De Los Muertos Sugar Skull making day on Sunday. I just can't wait till the weekend of Aug 29 when I FINALLY get to see my beautiful gf for our romantic rendezvous in The Bay!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That's all for now folks, have a great week!

Last couple of days plus weekend plans

Happy Friday Everyone!

The last couple of days have been kind of crazy. And I seriously CAN NOT wait for these next two weeks to pass by so that I can meet my gf up in the bay area! It's been tooo long since the last time I got to hold her and I'm ready (the other day, it just hit me that we'll be doing this 'long distance' thing for about another year and 4 months...*sigh*) anyyywhooo...

Wed I went to McArthur park to meet up some friends and go see La Santa Cecilia play. It was such a nice LA summer evening and it was nice to get out and do something free. The park has REALLY changed since 2 years ago when the ex lived right across the street from it. They put in new grass and a new play area for the little ones it was nice. La Santa Cecilia was AMAZING!!!! And it totally helped that they have a little cutie that plays bass in the band ;) Here's a pic of La Santa Cecilia oh and go check them out on MySpace!

Well it's almost time to head out the door of this office! So here are my weekend plans:

Sat: Spend time with the bestis at Nickle Diner in Downtown LA and indulge in a Bacon Donut! YES!

Sat evening I'm rounding up the posse to go see Zap Mama for Free courtesy of Grand Performances in Downtown LA (I swear I Love my city. LA is soo amazing!)

Sunday I might be going over to the ONE Archives for a Lesbian Event by the LEX. I'm trying to make it my priority to go, we'll see how the day pans out. I wish you all a happy weekend and I'll post pics soon!

*cheers queers*

I know it's been a while...

Please forgive me for not writing a post in a while, I've been VERY busy with work and other things. My new goal is to write about events as soon as they happen so that I can keep the details fresh in my mind.

So Friday Night I went to my friend Yardenna's party. It was cool, real chill, kick back and lots of fun. Tashi's gf was out of town, so we made it a sort of 'girl's night out' since we were both sans girlfriend so that made it a little more fun (yes there was quite a bit of eye candy...but we won't tell the gf's that..) We recruited a couple more of our friends to go to The Ball for NYE with us. It looks like there's going to be quite a few of us going, so it should be fun. If you are so inclined to vote for my Gf Jess and I for Queen and King of the ball (you can vote on the site) that would be grand! :) I had my first consultation with my ball gown designer on Sunday and OMG I'm soo giddy about this thing. I just can't wait...it's like my fab femme dream come TRUE! **catches breath** ok back to Friday...we danced a bit and laughed and drank a little..we got to hang out with some friends that we normally just see in a big party setting in a more relaxed atmosphere, so that was nice...here's a couple of pix from that night...

Saturday, I got all the chosen family together for a beach day at Dockweiler Beach State Park in Playa Del Rey. It was soo fun and I felt like such a little momma hen because most of my close friends, which I consider like my family were there. My camera ran out of batteries, so I only got to get these pics that I took with my phone. Oh and another funny thing was that there was another group of queer ladies that were sitting to the left of us and a Lawyer from my job and her family behind us...good times.

Too bad that I thought that I would tan better without sunscreen...I know I know...I'm such a fool, so I ended up all red and now I look like a lobster. Oh well, nothing some advil and aloe vera gel won't help.

Sunday I just kicked back at home (other than meeting with my designer) The ex wifey came over to chill with me for a bit and then I got my things ready for the start of the week.

So that, my friends, was my weekend. I hope your was fun filled as well!
