L.A. based rapper/song-writer SKIM and Brooklyn-based soul-sister spoken word duo Climbing PoeTree come together for an elevational night!!!
...
SKIM
...weaves together stories of life, movement and love with her fiery rap lyrics mixed with her sultry singing. She has emerged as one of the most refreshing new artists from the Los Angeles soundscape as she flows through elements of hip hop, spoken word and korean folk music. Her reach is continually expanding as her soulful sounds echo across the nation—whether at the Michigan Womyn’s Music or San Francisco’s Pride Festivals, at college campuses or juvenile halls, on HBO’s Def Poetry or on Pacifica Radio, harmonizing with the Chicago Children’s Choir or opening for KRS-One. SKIM is a singing, rapping, song-writing, Korean-drumming, guitar-strumming storyteller, who captivates her audiences everywhere as she defies simple categorization.
